𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard "Ahong" Chan has announced several significant projects for the city, disclosed while he was in Manila attending the State of the Nation Address (SONA) by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

In an interview with SunStar's "Behind the Headlines," Mayor Chan provided updates on various infrastructure initiatives, including the Lapu-Lapu Expressway (LLEX), the bridge connecting Olango and Pangan-an, the coastal road from Barangays Pajo to Mactan, and the socialized housing project in Barangay Canjulao.

Mayor Chan also mentioned the recent signing of a memorandum of agreement with the companies implementing the LLEX project: the MVP Group and Premium Megastructures Inc. (PMI).

The LLEX, a skyway bridge connecting the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway to the airport, is a public-private partnership at no cost to the city.

For the bridge connecting Barangay Sabang to Barangay Pangan-an, the national government has allocated P130 million through Congresswoman Cindi King-Chan.

This boardwalk-type bridge is intended to provide safe and easy passage, especially during emergencies and for students traveling between Olango and Pangan-an.

Regarding the coastal road project from Barangays Pajo to Mactan, P360 million has been allocated by the national government, also through Congresswoman King-Chan. This project aims to alleviate traffic congestion on the circumferential road serving the export processing zone.

Both the Olango-Pangan-an boardwalk and the coastal road project require clearance from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) as they pass through protected areas. Mayor Chan stated, "We already have an endorsement from the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB); we just need to present it to the DENR Secretary for approval."

Additionally, Mayor Chan announced that the socialized housing project in Barangay Calawisan will commence next month. The project will open for bidding on August 5, with hopes of awarding the project by the end of the month.

The plan involves constructing two five-story buildings for socialized housing.

This is the third item's accordion body. It is hidden by default, until the collapse plugin adds the appropriate classes that we use to style each element. These classes control the overall appearance, as well as the showing and hiding via CSS transitions. You can modify any of this with custom CSS or overriding our default variables. It's also worth noting that just about any HTML can go within the .accordion-body, though the transition does limit overflow.
