This year, Lapu-Lapu City Government has been honored with the UPLIFT Award for their exceptional adoption of government initiatives. The first LGU in the country to have passed an ordinance for implementing the Paleng QR-Code program, created by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Department of Interior and Local Government, has successfully implemented the program. The UPLIFT Awards by the Manila Bulletin recognize and commemorate individuals and organizations that have dedicated their efforts towards bringing people together, achieving excellence, displaying leadership, and inspiring others.
